Deloitte Legal supports their client the European Commission in the evaluation of the EU competition law enforcement framework

We are thrilled to announce that Deloitte Legal and Deloitte have supported their client, the European Commission (DG COMP), in its evaluation of the framework for the enforcement of competition law in the EU.

Following the 20-year anniversary of Regulations 1/2003 and 773/2004, a cross-border team led by Richard Steppe, Wouter Devroe and Glenn Deblander of the EU & Competition practice at Deloitte Legal in Brussels have produced a multifaceted support study on the performance of these Regulations.

The support study includes analyses of 215 antitrust decisions adopted by the European Commission and of 1,470 antitrust decisions adopted by the EU and UK NCAs over the past 20 years. The study also offers key insights from qualitative interviews with the EU NCAs as well as 251 in-house counsel and antitrust attorneys. Principal topics include investigative tools, decision-making powers, procedural rights of (third) parties and coordination within the ECN.

Our support study can be read here.
