Maximilien joined Deloitte Legal as head of the Real estate team of lawyers in 2016.
He started his career at Clifford Chance, and, as a young associate, spent six months in the London office. In 2008, he was seconded to the international real estate group Goodman for a few months. After eleven years with Clifford Chance, he then joined the Belgian law firm K law in 2013 as a partner before becoming advisor to the CEO of Immobel, Belgium’s largest listed real estate development company, until its merger with Allfin in April 2016.
Maximilien’s areas of expertise cover cross-border and Belgian and/or Luxembourg real estate acquisitions and disposals, sale and leasebacks, development and construction projects, joint ventures, reorganisations and litigations in the real estate sector. His clients include investment funds, insurance companies, banks, public institutions, institutional investors, developers and corporations.
His experience encompasses all real estate asset classes (industrial, logistics, nursing homes, hotels, offices, residential, retail, oil tanks, power stations, solar panels, windfarms, infrastructure projects etc.) and includes legal advice in connection with high profile Belgian and pan-European real estate transactions.
Maximilien advises Belgian and foreign clients including REITs, real estate investment funds, insurance companies, investment banks and private equity houses, institutional investors, large developers, public institutions, corporates, family offices and UHNWI.
He is recommended by the leading independent legal industry reference guides Chambers Europe and Legal 500. Maximilien is fluent in Dutch, French and English.
