Deloitte Legal announces Director and Senior Director promotions

Deloitte Legal is proud to announce the promotion to Senior Director of Laurent Godts, and to Director of Stefanie Denorme, Wouter D’herde, and Richard Steppe.

A member of the Banking and Finance team, which he has been co-leading since 2021, Senior director Laurent Godts consistently demonstrates exceptional expertise in the legal aspects of transactional finance, including syndicated finance, project finance, and structured finance. His practice also extends to high-end financial regulation assignments within the banking, insurance, and funds sectors, with a particular emphasis on the emerging Fintech sector. His work includes structuring peer-to-peer lending platforms and advising on Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs).

Stefanie Denorme is a member of Greenille Private Client where she leads the Family Settlement and Court Proceedings team.  She has developed a strong specialization in international family law and family property law, has extensive experience in litigation and has worked closely with private clients, including high-net-worth individuals (HNWI). Stefanie assists and represents clients in personal conflicts, and also handles disputes over estates and matters related to personal status.

A member of the Corporate and M&A team, Wouter D’herde advises SMEs, NPEs and (semi)public entities on both national and international corporate transactions, with a specific focus on cooperative models, acquisitions, mergers, (partial) demergers and (solvent) restructurings. He also provides assistance to clients regarding general company and non-profit entity related legal issues.

Richard Steppe heads the EU & Competition practice together with prof. dr. Wouter Devroe. Richard has broad expertise in advising and representing clients in contentious and non-contentious matters of Belgian, EU and UK competition law, including in merger control proceedings, cartels and state aid, as well as in respect of access to markets and EU free movement. Prior to working as an attorney, Richard obtained a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School and wrote a Ph.D. in EU and competition law at the KU Leuven.
