Deloitte Legal – Lawyers supports their client the Pro League in the tendering of the domestic media rights of the Belgian Pro League competitions

Willem-Jan Cosemans, Richard Steppe and Julie Pinte from respectively the IP/IT & Media and EU & Competition practices of Deloitte Legal – Lawyers assisted the Pro League in the preparation and launch of the tender procedure and relevant contractual documentation of the domestic media rights for the 2025–2030 cycle.

The scope of these media rights covers various competitions, including the Jupiler Pro League, Challenger Pro League, Lotto Super League, Supercup, Croky Cup, Women’s Super League, as well as a wide variety of exploitation methods, such as live broadcast rights, highlights magazines, delayed clips, the Monday evening magazine and radio broadcasts.

Deloitte Legal has offered legal guidance throughout the tendering process, supporting the Pro League in all phases of the trajectory. The relevant domestic media rights have been allocated by the General Assembly of the Pro League to DAZN, VRT and RTBF on 19 December 2024. Following this decision, the Pro League will secure at least 84.2 million euros in revenue per season for the next 5 years.
